Quick summary
Triangular Battle is a weekly Kal Online event where up to 90 players are split into three teams and fight over emblems. Each team carries Ancient Essences off enemy altars and installs them on its own altar. The team with the most emblems installed at the end wins, and every participant gets honor points plus a participation item. The guide runs on a fixed Wednesday schedule and needs the new UI mode.

The three teams
The guide divides players into the Human team, the Demon team and the Doggebi team. Team colors are blue for Human, yellow for Demon and red for Doggebi. Players are assigned randomly and cannot pick their own team. Enemies are anonymous, and allies are told apart by team color. The guide spells the third team two ways, Dogebbi in its opening line and Doggebi in the team color section.

Schedule
  • Registration: 01:00 to 02:30, Wednesday.
  • Team matching: 02:30 to 02:40, Wednesday.
  • Enter field: 02:40 to 03:00, Wednesday.
  • Battle time: 03:00 to 03:33, Wednesday.
Triangular Battles are held only once a week.

How to enter
  • Register through the Manager of Triangular Battle, at the Duel Tournament Desk in the Village of Narrotuh.
  • Entry starts at level 70.
  • Up to 30 players are assigned to each team, and up to 90 players can join one battlefield.
  • Click Enter Battlefield up to 20 minutes before the match begins.
  • If you do not enter before the match begins, you are moved to the battlefield automatically.
The emblem rules
  • An Ancient Essence sits on every team's altar, so three are in play at once.
  • A player can pick only one Ancient Essence, and cannot hold two or more.
  • An emblem only counts when it is installed on your own altar. Setting it up out of your inventory is required.
  • If an emblem is not installed within 5 minutes of being captured, it returns to its original NPC.
  • If you die while holding an emblem, it drops on the ground.
  • Each player can obtain only one emblem, and it must be installed in their own camp to count.
  • You can set emblems up on your own team's altar only, and each altar accepts only its appointed emblem.
  • A red exclamation mark appears over any character holding an emblem, and the holder's location shows on the minimap.
  • Matches last 30 minutes, and the winner is decided by the number of emblems installed on their faction.
Buffs during the battle
Buffs are handed out every 3 minutes and announced 5 seconds before they land. Only a single buff goes to a player at a time.
  • Contracting space, 30 seconds: Super Speed, four times the effect of Speed-up medicine, to players within a certain range.
  • Improving attack, 30 seconds: Attack +100 percent to players within a certain range.
  • Improving defense, 30 seconds: Defense +100 percent to players within a certain range.
  • Recovering HP, 30 seconds: full HP recovery to players within a certain range.
  • Spontaneous cure, 20 seconds: +10 percent HP recovery per second.
  • Recovery, instant: full HP recovery.
  • Unkillableness, 20 seconds: the player cannot be killed for that period.
  • Precision, 20 seconds: On-target and Evasion +100 percent.
  • Teleport, instant: moves players within a certain range to a team's base camp.
Death, travel and quitting
  • If you die, you are resurrected automatically without a Scroll of Rebirth, and there is no limit on resurrections.
  • You cannot move towns during a Triangular Battle, but you can move if you quit midway.
  • Rewards are not awarded if you quit midway.
  • You must play for at least 20 minutes to receive rewards.
  • Team chat uses the shortcut key % and is only available to players within the same faction.
Rewards
Honor points are paid by the number of Ancient Essences a team ends with:
  • Default: 300 points to all participants.
  • One Ancient Essence: 500 points.
  • Two: 1,000 points.
  • Three: 1,500 points.
Honor points are checked with the shortcut key V. Participation items are Halidoms of Explosive Blow: the small one adds 2 percent to Explosive Blow success rate, the medium 4 percent and the large 5 percent, each for 1 hour. The guide also describes an activity contribution system that accumulates points for killing enemies, supporting allies, using skills and installing Ancient Essences, with a maximum of 3,000 Activity Points.

The UI requirement
The guide states twice that Triangular Battle is unavailable in the old UI and that you have to change into the new UI mode for the system to run normally. Registering in the new UI is not enough on its own, because the guide says the battle will not work normally in the old UI.
