Quick summary

The Kal Online auction system lets any character list an item for sale and lets anyone else bid on it or buy it outright. It runs through two NPCs, charges a fee both ways, and has a hard cap on the price you can ask. This post covers the rules, the fees, and the three time limits.

Who can use it

Any player can take part, regardless of character level. You do not need a minimum level or a guild to list an item or to bid on one.

Where to find it

The auction system is used through the Auction Managers Han-Dong and Hong-Gi. They are located in the Temporary Fort of Geum-Ohee Castle and in the City of Priest. Talk to one of them to open the item registration window.

The price rules
  • When you register an item you set three things: a price, a time limit, and a BUY NOW price.
  • The price must be a multiple of 1,000 geon, so anything below 1,000 geon cannot be entered.
  • No auction price can exceed 2,100,000,000 geon.
  • The registration price cannot be larger than the BUY NOW price.
  • A bid must also be more than 1,000 geon and a multiple of 1,000.
The fees
  • Listing an item requires 100,000 geon as guaranty money. It comes back to you together with your sales income.
  • If the auction closes with no bidder, 3 percent of the registration fee is imposed and the rest returns to you by parcel.
  • As the seller, 5 percent of the Zamogeon is taken as an auction fee when you list the item.
  • The Zamogeon you receive from a sale is sent to you automatically by parcel, minus that 5 percent.
Time limits and certificates

Without an Auction Certificate you can list an item for 6 hours. Three Auction Certificates are sold in the Item Shop, for 1 day, 3 days and 7 days, and each one sets that time limit when you use it. Any Auction Certificate disappears after use.

Bidding, buying, and getting the item back
  • Select a registered item and click the Bid button. Your bid amount is taken from you, and if somebody outbids you it returns by parcel automatically.
  • You can check your bid history in the Bid list tab.
  • BUY NOW lets you buy any item immediately while the time limit is still running. The item is sent to you by parcel and your purchase history is recorded.
  • The highest bidder at the end of the time limit gets the item, sent by parcel.
  • If nobody bids, the item is returned to you automatically when the time limit expires.
  • Items registered for auction can be cancelled, so check the prices before you confirm.
  • Any parcel that comes from the auction system cannot be returned.
What cannot be listed

Any item that can overlap in an item slot, such as quest items or cash items, cannot be auctioned or registered.
