Quick summary
Kal Online has a talisman enchanting system. You drag a talisman onto an item and confirm, and the item gains that talisman's efficacy. Four normal talismans each add one stat. Prefix talismans add a named effect to an item that is already enchanted. Enchanting can fail, and a failure costs the item some of its duration. At duration 0 the item is destroyed.

The four normal talismans
  • Strengthening Attack: Min/Max Attack Point Up
  • Strengthening Magic: Min/Max Magic Point Up
  • Strengthening Accuracy: Accuracy +1
  • Strengthening Defense: Defense +1
Talismans can be bought from the merchant in each village, or got from hunting monsters.

How enchanting works
Drag and drop the talisman onto the item, then click OK to continue. When enchanting succeeds, the item's efficacy is increased. When the enchanting level goes up, the probability of success goes down.

Prefix talismans
A prefix talisman is used on an item that is already enchanted. The item gets a new efficacy from the prefix. The prefix list starts at Forced (Strength 1) and Unlawful (Strength 2) and runs through the named prefixes, including the Greater series and the level based sets: IronWall and Aegis run from Lv1 to Lv6, Crush and Fury from Lv1 to Lv5.
For a prefix talisman, only one option is added to the item, by the probability of success.

What a failure costs
  • Normal talisman failure: the item's duration goes down randomly from 1 to 3.
  • Prefix talisman failure: the duration goes down by 5.
  • If the duration reaches 0, the item is destroyed. The duration can be fixed with a fixing tool.
The prefix page warns about this directly. Be careful if you try enchanting on an item with a duration of 5 or lower, because the item can be destroyed.

The conditions
  • Enchanting can only be tried on an item of level 40 or higher. For prefix talismans the level does not matter.
  • The item's duration must be 1 or higher for enchanting.
  • Enchanting can only be tried on items that are not equipped.
