Kal Online Mix System: the Mix Master, the Grade 40 rule, and what a failed mix costs you

What the Mix System is
The Mix System is a weapon upgrading system. You can upgrade a weapon you already own, or mix materials into it to produce a new upgraded weapon. GameAgit's guide says the work happens through the Mix Master.
The rules that catch people out
A weapon can be upgraded up to 2nd level, and once it reaches 2nd level it can be upgraded one more time with paid items. Success is decided by a percentage attached to each weapon grade, and the guide shows the rates in its images rather than as text.
The same system can produce a new upgraded weapon, and the grade of the weapon stays the same. The recipes are Main Item + Weapon + Armor + two Elemental Stones, or Main Item + Weapon + Armor + Elemental Stone + Rare Material. Stone of Mystery and Stone of Demon's Blood can be used as replacements, and the Demon's Sword works as a replacement for the weapon material.
After a successful mix the job limitation on the weapon stays the same as the main weapon and all of its status stays. The guide lists one exception: critical failure, which it says applies only to Imperial Dark Shadow item creation.

Why it is worth knowing before you spend anything
Mixing is the route from a plain Grade 40 weapon to something better, and the cost is paid whether it works or not. The guide is blunt about the materials: they disappear on a failed attempt just as they do on a successful one. Knowing that before you commit is the difference between planning a mix and gambling on one.
FAQ

Q: What is the Mix Master?

The rules that catch people out
- Mixing weapons only works on weapons of Grade 40 or higher.
- When a mix fails, the main weapon's endurance drops by 5 to 10. The guide adds a line about a weapon whose endurance is already lower than that decrement, so read the full rule on the page before you mix a nearly broken weapon.
- The elemental stone and the money are gone either way, whether the mix succeeds or fails.
- Endurance can be raised again with the fixing tool item sold by the merchant.
- All of the weapon's status stays after a mix.

- Levels 1 to 2: Main Item + Weapon + Armor + Material (Elemental Stone).
- Level 3: Main Item + Weapon + Armor + Rare Material (Stone of Mystery or Stone of Demon's Blood).
- Mixing with rare materials can only be done once the weapon has reached 2nd level.

The elemental stones

- Stone of Holy: MP +20 and Wisdom and Health +2 at level 1, rising to MP +50 and +5 at level 2.
- Stone of Flame, Stone of Ice, Stone of Lightening, Stone of Poison and Stone of Paralysis each add that damage type or status at 5 percent at level 1 and 10 percent at level 2.
- Stone of Strength: HP +10 percent and MP -5 percent at level 1, rising to HP +20 percent and MP -10 percent at level 2.
- Stone of Skill: HP -5 percent and MP +10 percent at level 1, rising to HP -10 percent and MP +20 percent at level 2.
- Stone of Demon's Blood and Stone of Mystery are the level 3 stones, and they give flat stat grants rather than percentages.
