Quick summary
  • Protecting Leader is a guild PvP scenario in Kal Online. Your guild protects its leader while trying to stop the enemy leader doing the same.
  • Entry costs 30,000 geon per application and it is not refunded if your guild is not matched.
  • The scenario needs at least 6 and at most 80 participants, and a guild with fewer than 10 registered members is abstained.
  • Registration runs Wednesday night and the battle is played on Thursday between 01:00 and 02:00.
  • The leader scores prayer points at the Statue of Prayer, and the first guild to 1,500 points in a round wins it.
What the scenario is

Protecting Leader is one of the scenario contents. Your guild protects its leader and interferes with the enemy leader so that your own leader can carry out the battlefield objectives. The objective is the Temple of Prayer. The leader prays at the Statue of Prayer and scores points over time, and the guild with more points wins the round.

Entry and the participant rules

The cost of applying is 30,000 geon, and it cannot be refunded even if you are not matched. The minimum number of participants is 6 and the maximum is 80. If fewer than 10 guild members are registered when you apply, your guild is abstained. Every guild that applies gets matched, and if matching fails because there are no opponents, you do not receive a reward.

Registration and member registration are done through the Red Doggebi NPC at the entrance of the Doggebi Tower, and only the guild master or a sub-master can do it. Registered characters are summoned automatically two minutes before the match starts and moved to the waiting area.

The schedule
  • Guild registration: Wednesday 23:00 to Thursday 00:00
  • Guild matching announced: Thursday 00:00 to 00:10
  • Member registration: Thursday 00:10 to 00:50
  • Battle time: Thursday 01:00 to 02:00
The total time can be reduced when one team wins the first two games.

How guilds are matched

Matching is based on guild grade. The grades are Champion for rank 1 to 10, Master for 11 to 20, Veteran for 21 to 30, and Beginner for rank 31 and below. Matching is random between guilds of the same grade, and when there is no match in the same grade a match is made with a lower grade. Guilds that are not registered in the guild ranking, meaning 0 activity points, are matched with other guilds in the same position.

The prayer point rule

The leader prays by clicking the Statue of Prayer. For the first five minutes the leader gathers 25 points every 20 seconds, and after that 25 points every 15 seconds. The prayer has to run without interruption. If the leader dies while praying, the leader must pray for five minutes to get back to the 25 points every 15 seconds rate. If the enemy leader is already praying, your leader cannot pray, so you have to pressure the enemy leader to stop them scoring.

Only one character can pray at a time. While praying, the leader cannot use medicine or receive healing magic, and cannot move or defend, only chat.

A guild reaches 1,500 points to win the round. If neither guild reaches 1,500 in the 20 minute round, the guild with more points wins. If the points are level, the round ends without a winner. Three rounds are played and the first guild to win two rounds wins the battle.

The leader restrictions

The leader cannot receive revival magic and cannot use the High-Grade Scroll of Rebirth. The leader is revived automatically after 30 seconds. The gate to the Temple of Prayer must be destroyed before the temple can be used, and if the gate is not destroyed, manipulating the temple forces the leader back to the starting area.

The reward

Winners receive 3,000 honor points and losers receive 200. A withdrawn guild receives 1,500. Killing an enemy character gives 30 points times the class value plus one, capped at 3,500, and the wiki notes that the honor points earned for kills vary depending on the character class. All participants can earn honor points equal to 10% of the prayer points earned in the scenario.

The portable bomb

A portable bomb can be bought from the Weapon Artisan in the Village of Narootuh for 100,000 geon. It is used with the right mouse button, throws a bomb at a chosen spot for huge damage, and can only be used once every 15 minutes. It damages everyone, including friendly forces and the player who threw it, except the leaders.
