Kal Online Hero Emblem: the eight emblems, the fragments behind them, and the collection effects

The Hero Emblem system is Kal Online's long-term collection goal. The story on the publisher's page is that the heroes who saved the continent poured their power and memories into emblems before they died, and those emblems were scattered across the land. Bringing them back together is what unlocks the effects.

Where you get them

You exchange emblems with So-yeon in the Village of Narootuh, and each one costs Emblem Fragments plus one Emblem Engraving Stone.
  • Shadow Hunter's Emblem: 500 Shadow Hunter's Emblem Fragment
  • Golem Inquisitor's Emblem: 80 Golem Inquisitor's Emblem Fragment
  • Dragon Hunter's Emblem: 100 Dragon Hunter's Emblem Fragment
  • Slayer's Emblem: 400 Slayer's Emblem Fragment
  • Tower of Honor Emblem: 200 Tower of Honor Emblem Fragment
  • The Land of the Decisive Battle Emblem: 80 The Land of the Decisive Battle Emblem Fragment
  • Brilliant Fortune Emblem: 300 Brilliant Fortune Emblem Fragment
  • General Wanli Taesan's Emblem: 80 General Wanli Taesan's Emblem Fragment
Where the fragments come from

Every fragment except Hero Relic is account bound. The Emblem Engraving Stone is sold by the Wandering Honor Merchant NPC and is character bound.
  • Shadow Hunter's Fragment: based on damage contribution when defeating Shadow of D'evah
  • Golem Inquisitor's Fragment: based on damage contribution when defeating the Red or Blue Golem Inquisitor
  • Dragon Hunter's Fragment: based on damage contribution when defeating Ghost of Dragon
  • Slayer's Fragment: a low chance to drop from level 100 and above monsters
  • Tower of Honor Fragment: a low chance to drop from the Tower of Honor monsters
  • The Land of the Decisive Battle Fragment: based on damage contribution when defeating Ruler of the Earth
  • Brilliant Fortune Fragment: from special sale items
  • General Wanli Taesan's Fragment: based on damage contribution when defeating General Wanli Taesan
The damage contribution line matters. On the boss fights you are not farming a drop table, you are farming a share of the kill, so a character that contributes nothing gets nothing. That is the part people usually miss.

What the collection gives you

The Collection system is where registered emblems turn into power. You open it from Settings (ESC) and pick Collection from the full menu. The window has four views: Collection List, Collected Effects Overview, Registerable Items and View Collection Effects. You pick an item in Collection List, pick what to consume in Registerable Items, and hit Register.

The effects unlock at collection counts of 1, 3, 6, 10, 15, 20 and 30. At one emblem you already get the base spread: STR, Health, INT, WIS, AGI, HP, MP, OTP, Eva, DEF, Absorb, HP recovery in battle and MP recovery in battle. At three the pool adds PVP attack and defence, PVE attack and defence and EXP percentage. At six it adds the percentage versions of those plus the evasion rates. From three upwards each threshold also lets you obtain one random item from each reward category.

Practical notes
  • Registering consumes the item, so pick the emblems you want to keep
  • The effects unlock by collection count, so the thresholds matter more than the order you register in
  • Hero Relic comes from an event, so it is the one fragment you cannot farm on a schedule
