Kal Online honor system: the ten grades, how the weekly point tally sets your rank, and what the rewards cost
Quick summary
  • The honor system opens at level 50 and only awards points inside the battlefields.
  • There are three ways to earn honor points: killing an enemy, winning or losing the battlefield, and racking up activity points.
  • Your grade is recalculated every week at server maintenance, using the points you already had plus the points you earned in the last seven days, plus a bonus for the top ten players of that week.
  • There are ten grades. The top five have a hard cap on how many players can hold them, so having the points is not enough on its own.
  • Rewards are bought with reward points, which go down when you claim them. Your honor points do not.
  • Press V to open the honor window.
Who can join

The honor system is available from level 50. It exists to reward you for proving yourself in the battlefields, and it runs on a weekly cycle.

Three ways to earn honor points

Honor points only come from the battlefields, and there are three sources.
  • Killing an enemy. You earn points for each kill in PvP content. The reward depends on the rank of the enemy you killed, and each content type has a maximum number of points it can give.
  • Battlefield victory or defeat. You get a set amount of honor points for a win, a loss or a draw.
  • Activity points. Taking part in the content, killing enemies, using skills and supporting allies all build activity points, which pay out a personal reward on top of the shared points.
When you kill an enemy or win the battlefield, the honor points go to the whole party. Activity points are personal.

How your grade is decided

Grades are applied every week at the server maintenance window, and the calculation is not just your running total.

The official page describes it as three numbers added together: the honor points you have accumulated so far, the points you earned in the last seven days, and a bonus awarded to the top ten players of that week by rank. Those three are summed and compared against everyone else.
  • You need enough points to reach a grade in the first place.
  • You also need to have played recently, because the weekly total carries weight.
  • Stop playing and the grade can drop.
The ten grades

The official page lists ten grades, each with a point requirement and, for the top five, a cap on how many players can hold it.
  • Grade 10: 111,600 points, 1 player.
  • Grade 9: 78,740 points, 9 players.
  • Grade 8: 57,970 points, 25 players.
  • Grade 7: 44,640 points, 49 players.
  • Grade 6: 35,030 points, 81 players.
  • Grade 5: 20,150 points, no cap.
  • Grade 4: 12,090 points, no cap.
  • Grade 3: 7,750 points, no cap.
  • Grade 2: 4,960 points, no cap.
  • Grade 1: 2,790 points, no cap.
The official page names each grade in Korean. The English guide uses a different set of rank names for the reward requirements, so do not assume the two lists line up.

What the rewards cost

Honor rewards are bought with reward points, which are earned alongside honor points from the battlefields. Claiming a reward spends reward points and leaves your honor points untouched. Some rewards also require a specific class.

The English guide lists the reward catalogue:
  • Shields, from the Ghost Shaped Steel Shield up to the Forced Infernal Destroyer Shield.
  • Ancient accessories, rings and necklaces with two stats at +3, which cannot be enchanted.
  • Hermit's accessories, rings and necklaces that can be enchanted up to +7.
  • Skill books, which raise a skill by one level when you use them at the NPC.
  • Transportation, which moves you faster than running.
An honor coupon is a separate item. Using one gives you reward points without adding anything to your honor points.

Where to see it all

Press V to open the honor window. It shows your current grade, your previous grades, your honor points, your reward points and how many times you have entered each battlefield.

FAQ

Q: Do I lose honor points when I claim a reward?
A: No. Claiming a reward spends reward points. Your honor points stay where they are.

Q: Can I earn honor points outside the battlefields?
A: No. All three sources are inside the battlefields.

Q: What happens if I stop playing for a week?
A: Your grade can drop, because the weekly point total is part of the calculation.

Q: Is grade 10 guaranteed if I have 111,600 points?
A: No. Grade 10 has a single slot, and the weekly rank bonus is part of the final number.

Q: What is the difference between honor points and reward points?
A: Honor points decide your grade. Reward points are what you spend on the rewards, and they are the ones that go down when you claim something.
