Kal Online pet crossbreed: the rules that block most attempts, the fixed material pet bonuses, and how rare pets roll
Quick summary
  • Pet crossbreed merges two pets into one new pet. You do it through the mystical creature manager NPC in the pub at the Giant Bird.
  • Cash pets and Zamogeon pets can only be crossed within their own purchase type. A cash pet and a point pet from the item market can cross, but a cash pet and a Zamogeon pet cannot.
  • Two pets of the same kind cannot cross. Blue Dragon plus Blue Dragon is out.
  • A pet that has been equipped once, even for a moment, is locked out of crossbreed.
  • Both parent pets disappear when the new pet lands in your inventory, and rare pets only drop from cash pet crosses, at a 1% chance.
Where it happens

Talk to the mystical creature manager NPC in the pub at the Giant Bird and pick the crossbreed creatures dialogue. The window has five parts.
  • A list of your crossbreedable pets. It only shows the material pets that work with your main pet once you drag one into the slot.
  • The main pet slot, the primary ingredient.
  • The material pet slot, the secondary ingredient.
  • The result, which shows what the crossbreed will produce.
  • A description of the other pets that can come out of the same pair.
The rules that block most attempts
  • Cash pets and Zamogeon pets only cross within the same purchase type. A cash pet cannot cross with a Zamogeon pet. A cash pet bought on the item market can cross with a Kal Point pet bought on the market.
  • Pets of the same kind cannot cross. Blue Dragon plus Blue Dragon, White Tiger plus White Tiger, Black Tortoise plus Black Tortoise and Red Bird plus Red Bird are all impossible.
  • Field pets and PvP pets cannot cross with each other.
  • A pet that has been equipped at all, so that its time has dropped, cannot be crossed.
  • When the crossbreed finishes, the main pet and the material pet disappear and a new pet goes into your inventory.
Fixed buffs from the material pet

The material pet is what makes the crossbreed worth running. Even two main pets of the same kind produce different fixed buffs depending on which material pet you choose.
  • Blue Dragon specialises in attack power.
  • White Tiger specialises in explosive blow.
  • Black Tortoise specialises in defence.
  • Red Bird specialises in evasion.
Each pet has one stat it strengthens above the rest, and the new pet keeps the material pet's stat as a fixed buff at 100% probability. Fixed buffs are not affected by Blessing of Asadal.

Rare pets

Rare pets drop only from cash pet crosses, at a 1% chance. Their main ability is much higher than a normal pet's, and their buffs fire at 100% probability. The cooldown and the duration of those buffs are the same as a normal pet, not longer.
  • True Blue Dragon: attack power plus 20% on a Field pet, plus 29% on a PvP pet, with explosive blow, defence and evasion on top.
  • True White Tiger: explosive blow plus 10% on a Field pet, plus 12% on a PvP pet.
  • True Black Tortoise: defence plus 24% on a Field pet, plus 29% on a PvP pet.
  • True Red Bird: evasion plus 8% on a Field pet, plus 10% on a PvP pet.
What it costs you

Both pets are gone for good, and the new pet's stats are fixed the moment it exists. You cannot re-roll, you cannot undo it, and a pet that has been equipped once is unusable as material for the next attempt. Check the result preview, confirm the material pet's fixed buff is the one you want, and only then let it run.
