Kal Online Honor system: how honor points are earned, the ten ranks, and what the rewards cost
Quick summary

The Honor system is Kal Online's PvP reward track. It opens at level 50, runs on a one week cycle, and pays out in two separate currencies: honor points, which decide your rank, and reward points, which you spend on honor items.[4][6]

Killing enemies, winning or losing a battlefield, and reaching an activity threshold all feed the first currency. The second one is what you spend at the honor merchants.

How honor points are earned

Honor points can only be earned inside a battlefield, and there are three sources.[4][6]
 1. Killing an enemy in PvP content. The reward depends on the rank of the enemy you killed, and each content has a maximum number of points you can earn.
 2. Battlefield victory, defeat or draw. A set amount of honor points is granted each time a battlefield ends.
 3. Reaching a certain activity point total. Activity points come from taking part in content, killing enemies, using skills and supporting allies.[6]
Because the battlefield is the goal, honor points are shared with every party member when you kill an enemy or win. Activity points pay out individually.[4][6]

The weekly cycle and the ten ranks

The system repeats on a one week cycle, and a new rank is applied at the weekly server maintenance.[4]

A rank is not a plain points threshold. The publisher's page says the calculation looks at your accumulated honor points first, then ranks the last week's honor points from first to tenth and adds bonus points for those positions, then compares the sum of the two. The practical result is that a rank can fall if you stop playing, even while your total points stay high.[4]

Rank (official Korean name)Required pointsSlots

마루한 (approx. Maruhan)111,6001

태한군 (approx. Taehangun)78,7409

상랑군 (approx. Sangranggun)57,97025

중랑장 (approx. Jungnyangjang)44,64049

랑장 (approx. Rangjang)35,03081

별장 (approx. Byeoljang)20,150unlimited

산원 (approx. Sanwon)12,090unlimited

교위 (approx. Gyowi)7,750unlimited

대정 (approx. Daejeong)4,960unlimited

소정 (approx. Sojeong)2,790unlimited
The top five ranks have a fixed number of slots, so hitting the point threshold is not enough on its own.[4]

Honor rewards

Honor rewards are bought with reward points, which are earned in proportion to your honor points. Spending reward points does not reduce your honor points, and some rewards require a specific rank before you can buy them.[4][6]

The English guide lists the reward categories as a Shield of Grade 55, ancient accessories with two stats at +3 that cannot be enchanted, hermit accessories that can be enchanted to +7 with one stat, skill books, and a transportation item.[6]

What the rewards cost

Honor items are sold by two NPCs: 천자군 교위 and 별장. They stand in the Village of Narootuh, at Geumoei Fortress, and on Sky Highland.[5]

Skill books are the most expensive rewards. A 기술의 서 for Weapon Specialization that raises a skill from stage 20 to 21 costs 800,000 and requires 별장 rank, while the higher version that raises it from 21 to 22 costs 1,200,000 and requires 중랑장 rank.[5]

Honor coupons

A coupon is the way to get reward points without a matching rise in honor points. Using one does not increase your honor points, only your reward points.[4]

Where to check your numbers

Press V to open the honor window. It shows your current and past rank, your honor points, your reward points, and how many times you have taken part in each battlefield.[4][6]

FAQ

Can I lose my rank?
Yes. The weekly ranking compares the top ten players from the last week, so a quiet week can drop you out of a slot.[4]

Do reward points and honor points fall together?
No. Spending reward points lowers only the reward points.[4]

Can I buy honor items without a rank?
Every item in the table has a rank requirement, and all purchase conditions must be met before the NPC will sell to you.[5]

Are honor items tradeable?
The ancient and hermit accessories are bound, and the hermit pieces cannot be resold. The talismans and items used to enhance an honor item are not refunded on resale.[5]

Does a skill book come back on reset?
No. Resetting a skill you learned with a skill book using 기회의 돌 or its higher version returns the skill points but not the extra points, and the book itself is returned so you can learn it again.[5]
