Kal Online Mage job tree: Scholar to Military Adviser, skills at each stage
The Mage is one of the most distinctive classes in Kal Online. Former priests who were expelled for using unauthorized magic, they survived a battle that killed all their male counterparts. Only women carry the tradition now. This guide walks through the full Mage job tree and what each stage gives you.
The Mage identity
Mages are intelligence-based casters. Their damage scales with Intelligence, which also boosts their resistance against lightning, fire, and ice. Agility increases dodge, accuracy, and base attack points. The class is built around area-of-effect magic, party support, and revive skills that keep groups alive through hard content.
Job 1: Scholar
The starting job. Scholars use basic magic to attack enemies. You get your first damage spells here and learn the rhythm of casting, managing MP, and positioning. The Scholar stage is where you build the foundation for everything that follows.
Job 2: Literary Man
The second job adds revive and cure skills to your toolkit. This is the stage where Mages start becoming essential to party content. You can bring fallen allies back and keep the group's health topped up between pulls. Your magic attacks also become more reliable.
Job 3: Hermit
Hermits specialize in attacking specific areas with magic. This is where the Mage's AoE identity crystallizes. You get spells that target zones rather than single enemies, which changes how you position in both PvE and PvP. The Hermit skills are the ones most Mages remember from mid-game grinding.
Job 4: Chairperson of Joong-Bang
The fourth job brings powerful assist skills and another revive option. Chairpersons are the backbone of organized party play. You get buffs that enhance ally performance and the ability to revive multiple targets. This is the job where a Mage's value to a group becomes impossible to ignore.
Job 5: Ascetic
Ascetics focus on attacking specific units and self-defense skills. The tradeoff shifts from pure support to a hybrid role. You get tools to protect yourself while still contributing damage. Ascetic Mages can survive situations that would kill a Scholar or Hermit.
Job 6: Military Adviser
The final job in the Mage tree. Military Advisers have skills to assist and manage all allies, though they remain weak against infighters. This is the peak of the Mage's support capabilities. A well-built Military Adviser can turn a struggling group into a coordinated force.
Stat priorities
Intelligence is your primary stat. It drives magic attack power and elemental resistance. Agility is secondary for dodge and accuracy. Most Mages push INT heavily in the early and mid game, then add AGI once their damage is comfortable. The exact ratio depends on whether you lean toward solo grinding or party support.
Choosing your path
The Mage tree is linear. You progress through each job in order, and each job change unlocks new skills and raises your power ceiling. The class rewards patience. A fully jobbed Military Adviser is one of the most valuable characters in any Kal Online party, but getting there takes time and consistent skill investment.
