Kal Online Thief job tree: Wandering Thief, Hitman, Dark Shadow, and Unearthly Ghost
The Thief is Kal Online's stealth assassin class. It starts as a melee fighter with the Hiding skill and branches into two distinct paths at level 50: a stealth route that ends at Dark Shadow, and a combat route that ends at Unearthly Ghost. This guide walks through every stage of the tree so you can plan your build.
The base class: Wandering Thief
The Wandering Thief is the starting job. It specializes in melee attacks and uses Hiding, the basic combat skill of the Thief class. Hiding lets you disappear from enemy sight, which is the foundation of everything the Thief does. At this stage you are learning the rhythm of approach, strike, and vanish.
Level 30: Thief Guild Member
At level 30 you advance to Thief Guild Member. This job unlocks several types of skills that can be used while in hiding mode. The key difference from the base job is that you are no longer limited to a single stealth skill. You can chain abilities while hidden, which makes you much harder to pin down in both PvE and PvP.
Level 50: the split
At level 50 the Thief tree branches into two paths. The choice matters because it determines your endgame role.
Path 1: Hitman (level 50) and Dark Shadow (level 70)
The Hitman specializes in one-on-one combat. It has skills dedicated to assassination such as quick attack and fatal wound. The job description is blunt: assassins are professional killers that never hesitate to cheat or destroy themselves as long as it is to eliminate their targets.
At level 70 the Hitman advances to Dark Shadow. No one can survive once they lay eyes on Dark Shadow. This job is gifted with the hiding ability and covers themselves under the curtain of shadow while fighting. If you have to fight a Dark Shadow, use your intuition rather than your eyes, because they can sink into your shadow and kill you before you know it.
This path is for players who want to stay hidden and kill from stealth. It is the more traditional Thief playstyle.
Path 2: Invisible Swordsman (level 50) and Unearthly Ghost (level 70)
Despite their origin as stealthy Thieves, Invisible Swordsmen prefer confronting their enemies. Their fast movement and powerful counterattacks can throw enemies off balance, and they can weaken the armor of enemies to expose and attack vital points. The job description says they are worth a hundred persons and do not hesitate to slash down multiple enemies by themselves.
At level 70 the Invisible Swordsman advances to Unearthly Ghost. Unearthly Ghosts are reluctant to assassinate enemies but enjoy making sport of them in a similar way that Dark Shadows do. While Dark Shadow mastered hiding ability, Unearthly Ghosts focused on dagger skills. Their dagger is so fast that no one has witnessed its movement or shape, hence the name Unearthly Ghost.
This path is for players who want to fight in the open. It trades stealth for raw dueling power and armor penetration.
Which path should you pick?

Which path should you pick?
- Pick Hitman into Dark Shadow if you want the classic stealth assassin experience. You will kill from hiding and control engagements on your terms.
- Pick Invisible Swordsman into Unearthly Ghost if you want to duel. You give up some stealth for faster movement, counterattacks, and armor weakening.
- Both paths are viable in PvP. Dark Shadow is harder to play but has higher burst potential from stealth. Unearthly Ghost is more forgiving in sustained fights.
