Item enhancement is a core part of Kal Online's progression. Understanding how the upgrade system works can save you gold and prevent frustrating losses. This guide covers the basics of talismans, polishing stones, and the Magic Anvil.

[h]The Magic Anvil[/h]

Upgrades are performed at the Magic Anvil in Moradon. You place the item you want to upgrade and the talisman you want to use into the anvil. The game asks you to confirm, then attempts the upgrade. The item either improves or disappears based on a hidden percentage.

[h]Talismans[/h]

Different items require different talismans for upgrading. Some talismans have two properties, and you can choose which one to apply. You drag the talisman from your inventory onto the appropriate object to start the process.

[h]Polishing Stones[/h]

To prevent an item from being destroyed during an upgrade, you can use a Polishing Stone. The stone is consumed after one upgrade attempt. If the item survives, you can try again. If it breaks, the stone is gone too.

The first two upgrade attempts are always safe when using a Talisman of Defense or Talisman of Accuracy, and no Polishing Stone is required.

[h]When items break[/h]

If an item breaks during an upgrade attempt, you receive Revision Stones. These stones are required for adding additional properties to weapons, such as Explosive Blow (EB).

[h]Dragon Fusing[/h]

Dragon Fusing allows you to raise the total stat value of an item. Even the lowest grade fuse gives stats higher than the base item. Any upgrades you made before fusion stay in effect. Fusing remains active even after a fused weapon is upgraded to Imperial grade.

[h]Armor Set system[/h]

You can enchant armor pieces with a Bead of Fire. When you equip multiple enchanted pieces from the same set, you receive additional set bonuses. A half set gives a smaller bonus, and a full set gives the larger bonus.

[h]Upgrade chances[/h]

Upgrade success rates vary by item class:
  • Low class items: Higher success rates, commonly 50-80%
  • Middle class items: Moderate success rates, commonly 30-50%
  • High class items: Lower success rates, commonly 10-30%
  • Unique items: Require BES to unlock upgrades first, then use BUS for each stage
These percentages are approximate and based on player-collected statistics. There is no guaranteed method other than certain transitions like +1 to +2 and the Blessed Item Upgrade Scroll up to +7.

[h]Tips[/h]
  • Always use a Polishing Stone on high-value items
  • Save your Revision Stones for weapons you plan to keep
  • Fuse items before upgrading to maximize stat gains
  • Buy scrolls from Charon near the Magic Anvil or from other players
