KAL Online Training Center Guide: How AFK Leveling Works (and Which XP Boosts Don't Apply)

If you've seen characters standing motionless in a room full of wooden dolls, quietly gaining levels, you've seen the Training Center in action. It's KAL Online's built-in AFK leveling system — but it has its own rules, and several of them are counterintuitive. The most expensive mistake players make is popping XP items or waiting for XP events before training, because none of those boosts apply inside.

This guide covers how to get in, how the time bank works, what XP you'll actually earn, and what to save for open-field grinding instead.

What the Training Center is

The Training Center is a dedicated zone where your character earns experience automatically while attacking a wooden doll. There's no mob AI and no drops — just steady XP for as long as your training time lasts.

Entry goes through the Training Center Manager NPC in Narootuh village, who transfers you in for a fee. To leave, speak to the Training Center Head Chief NPC inside, who sends you back to Narootuh.

How training starts and ends

The system is driven entirely by whether you're attacking the doll:
  • Hitting the doll starts training: your training-center usage time is deducted and XP flows.
  • Time is deducted while you train against the doll.
  • Training ends when any of these happens: your timer reaches 00:00, you stop attacking the doll (including switching to a different doll), or your client disconnects or misbehaves.
Because a disconnect terminates the session, an unstable connection is the main practical enemy of long AFK sessions. Check your timer when you come back rather than assuming it ran all night.

The time bank: up to 999 hours

Training time can be extended up to a hard cap of 999 hours. Time is deducted while you train against the doll, so the bank works like a reserve you spend at your own pace.

XP is fixed by your level — gear doesn't matter

This is the part that trips up min-maxers: the XP you earn in the Training Center is a fixed amount based on your character level. It is not tied to your damage output or your gear. Swapping in a stronger weapon, buffing your attack, or optimizing your hit rate against the doll changes nothing about how fast you level inside.

The practical takeaway: don't invest in doll-hitting output. Wear whatever, hit the doll, and let the timer do the work.

The boosts that do NOT work inside

This is the section that saves you real money and event time. The following are explicitly excluded from the Training Center:
  • XP-up events, including PC-bang bonuses
  • XP items, such as Stone of EXP and Blessing of Asadal (and other EXP-related items)
If you use these while training, they're wasted. Save every XP item and every event window for open-field grinding, where the multipliers actually apply, and treat the Training Center as your baseline AFK income between those sessions.

Quick reference

| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Where do I enter? | Training Center Manager NPC, Narootuh village (transfer fee) |
| How do I earn XP? | Attack the wooden doll; usage time is deducted while you train |
| Does gear/damage matter? | No — XP is a fixed amount based on character level |
| Time cap | Extendable up to 999 hours |
| What ends training? | Timer at 00:00, stopping (or switching) your attack, or a client disconnect |
| Do XP events/items work? | No — XP-up events, PC-bang bonuses, Stone of EXP, and Blessing of Asadal are all excluded |
| How do I leave? | Training Center Head Chief NPC inside sends you back to Narootuh |

Bottom line

The Training Center is a set-and-forget system: pay the fee in Narootuh, hit the doll, and bank levels at a fixed rate for your level — with up to 999 hours of stored time. Just remember its one hard rule: no boost you bring in with you applies. Grind events and burn XP items in the open field; AFK on the doll with nothing active.
