Kal Online friend system: the 30 friend limit, the 5 geon mail fee, the parcel rules, and the deletion timers
What the friend list is for
The friend registration system lets you add friends and use mail inside Kal Online. You can check whether a friend is online, send them items, and send them a parcel that asks for Zamogeon in return.
There are three mail types:
  • Mail: your friend does not have to be online to receive it
  • Present: you can attach items in the mail
  • Parcel: you attach items and ask for Zamogeon later
Adding and removing friends
Open the skill window and click the 'Add Friend' icon, or press the F key.
You can add up to 30 friends. Friends who are logged on show a white I.D, the others show grey.
The command form is /registerfriend character name.
You can delete a friend with /deletefriend character name.

Sending mail
You can select friends from your list and send mail to all of them at once.
There is a transaction fee of 5 geons per mail, and you can write 100 letters.
Attaching an item costs 100 geons, and the mail fee is included in that.

Receiving mail
Double click a mail in your mail list to read it. You can save 100 received mails, and you cannot send mail to a friend who has 100 mails saved in their own mailbox.
Your received mail box holds up to 50 mails. If mail arrives after those 50, you have to delete earlier mails and reopen the box to see the new ones.
To take an item from a gift or parcel mail, click the mail in your mail box and receive the items.
When a parcel arrives, the requested fee is asked automatically when you open the mail.
If you do not want the item, click the return button and it goes back to the seller.

What gets deleted and when
The wiki's table, as it prints:
  • Mail, waiting: deleted automatically after 30 days
  • Mail, checked: deleted automatically after 1 hour
  • Parcel asking for a price, waiting: returned automatically after 1 hour
  • Parcel, checked: returned automatically after 1 hour
  • Gift, waiting: returned automatically after 2 days
  • Gift, checked: returned automatically after 1 hour
All returned mails sit waiting in your received mail box. There are also three colours for mails you need to deal with:
  • Red: deleted automatically in 24 hours
  • White: returned automatically in 24 hours
  • Grey: not deleted or returned
The practical read is that an unopened parcel or gift does not stay with you long. If you are asking a friend to pay for a parcel, tell them before the timer runs out, or the item goes back and you have to send it again.

What this post does not settle
The 100 letter limit is what the wiki prints for a single mail. I could not confirm whether it means 100 characters or 100 separate messages, and the page does not say.
The 1 hour deletion on checked mail is the wiki's figure. I did not open a live Kal Online mailbox this cycle to watch it happen.
