Explosive Blow is Kal Online's weapon power system. It adds an extra damage roll on top of your normal hit, and it is separate from the enchant grades most players already know. Raising it costs Zamogeon and a material called Stone of Revision, and the grade can never go higher than the grade of the weapon itself.[16]
The part that catches people out is the success percentage. The grade roll can fail or destroy your weapon, but you can push the odds to 100 percent by spending Stone of Revision first. Almost everyone skips that step and loses a weapon to it.[16]
Where Stone of Revision comes from
There are three sources, and the first one is the one most players never think about.[16]
- Talk to the Blacksmith NPC, choose destroy item, and destroy a weapon above grade 40, an armour piece or an accessory. You get Stone of Revision back.[16]
- Enchanting a Talisman of Attack or Talisman of Magic can fail and destroy the talisman. That also yields Stone of Revision.[16]
- Higher grade items give more stones. A low grade weapon is barely worth destroying.[16]
Two different actions at the blacksmith
The blacksmith offers two separate things, and mixing them up is how people waste materials.[16]
- Revise Successful Percentage raises the chance that the next grade attempt succeeds. You can take this to 100 percent. It costs Stone of Revision, and higher Explosive Blow grades need more of them.[16]
- Applying Explosive Blow is the actual grade attempt. The interface shows the fee, the success chance, the failure chance and the destroy chance before you confirm. The grade goes up by one, the attempt fails, or the weapon is destroyed.[16]
The full cost table
Stones listed are the Polishing Stones needed for a successful enchant at that grade, and the payment is in Zamogeon.[16]
- Grade 1: 1 stone, 1500 Zamogeon
- Grade 2: 2 stones, 3000 Zamogeon
- Grade 3: 3 stones, 6000 Zamogeon
- Grade 4: 4 stones, 6000 Zamogeon
- Grade 5: 5 stones, 7500 Zamogeon
- Grade 6: 7 stones, 9000 Zamogeon
- Grade 7: 10 stones, 10500 Zamogeon
- Grade 8: 13 stones, 12000 Zamogeon
- Grade 9: 21 stones, 13500 Zamogeon
- Grade 10: 29 stones, 15000 Zamogeon
- Grade 11: 45 stones, 16500 Zamogeon
- Grade 12: 92 stones, 18000 Zamogeon
- Grade 13: 188 stones, 19500 Zamogeon
- Grade 14: 192 stones, 21000 Zamogeon
- Grade 15: 196 stones, 22500 Zamogeon
- Grade 16: 198 stones, 24000 Zamogeon
The grade cap
Explosive Blow grade cannot exceed the grade of the weapon, sword, bow or magic stick you are applying it to. A +10 weapon can be raised to Explosive Blow grade 10 and no further.[16]
That means there is no point pushing a mid grade weapon to the cap and then replacing it. The Explosive Blow grade does not carry over.[16]
What it does in combat
- The grade shows in the weapon name in parentheses, like +13 Invincible HwanDoo SaeHyung Big Sword (12).[16]
- The tooltip shows the activation probability, the damage, and the next success probability. The success probability updates each time you revise it with Stone of Revision.[16]
- When it activates, it counts as a non elemental extra hit. It is not a crit and it is not a skill.[16]
Common mistakes
- Applying Explosive Blow before revising the success percentage. The destroy chance is real.[16]
- Destroying low grade gear for stones. You need grade 40 and above.[16]
- Pushing a weapon you plan to replace. The grade stays on the weapon.[16]
- Assuming the grade cap is a bug when it stops at your weapon grade. It is the rule.[16]
- Ignoring the Zamogeon cost entirely. At grades 11 and above the stones are the problem, not the gold.[16]
